Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon (JP) flagged off 2025 edition of learning materials to primary school pupils in Ughelli South and Ethiope East Local Government Areas of Delta state.
Prince Sony, while flagging off the distribution of the teaching and learning materials to primary school teacher’s and pupils across the local government area said that, it’s part of his plan to contribute to the society and encouraged the children towards education.
Presenting the materials to the pupils at Okpare primary school. Prince Sony, said Education is the comprehensive process of acquiring general knowledge, critical thinking skills and development, which can occur in formal setting like schools or through informal learning experiences”.
“I always feel bad whenever I thought of it because this has deprived so many children of continuing their academic pursuit and in my little way I decided to support and encourage the children because they are the foundation of any great nation and as well encourage the teachers.
“I am aware of the difficulties and challenges some parents passed through in providing learning materials to their wards especially now that the country economy is not stable.
He further urged the pupils to take their study serious as he charged them to make judicious use of the books and other learning materials given to them.
Prince Sony said, “It’s my 10th year of this wonderful programme, and I am grateful to God, for His sustainability.
He appealed to old students, social groups, humanitarian clubs and organisations emulate this lauderdale gesture and programme and contribute generously their own quota towards the development of primary schools so as to improve the standard of their academic activities.
“We should all remember that sound and quality education is the only legacy parents can bequeath their children”.
“We should therefore not relent in our efforts to actualize this lofty height”.
